HMOs, breast milk and microbiome associated with maternal characteristics by Dr. Erin Liu

In this webinar, Dr. Erin Liu from H&H Research, present her study recently published in the International Journal of Food Science and Technology. This study aimed to investigate the association of maternal characteristics with HMOs, human breast milk microbiome and infant gut microbiome over the first three months of lactation. The objective is precisely to identify maternal factors that influence HMO profiles and their association with the infant gut microbiota and infant growth. Chinese mothers and infant pairs (n = 110) were included in this prospective cohort. This study provides pivotal data on Chinese HMOs distribution profile and their association with maternal characteristics and the infant gut microbiome.
