Transmission of obesity from mother to child through microbiota transfer and impact on feeding behavior

Studies suggest that obesity could be ‘transmitted’ from mother to child. Since maternal microbiota is the main determinant of child intestine colonization, the transmission of a maternal microbiota "signature" of obesity to her child during perinatal period, could potentially affect his metabolism.

Early gut microbiota establishment is suggested to be an important factor for the health of the infant and future adult. In this context, we propose to identify early intestinal microbiota signatures or predictive microbiota profiles in children of the occurrence of overweight and obesity.

BINC sponsors the 56th annual meeting of ESPGHAN in Milan
16th-18th May 2024
BINC (Biostime Institute for Nutrition and Care) was thrilled to participate in this year's ESPGHAN congress, a hub of groundbreaking research, innovative treatments, and dynamic knowledge exchange. From May 15-18, over 5,600 participants from 104 countries gathered in Milan and online to explore the latest advancements in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition.

14th May 2024
On the 14th of May 2024, BINC had the pleasure to hold meeting in Geneva with the Administration board.We were thrilled to discuss the foundation’s progress especially regarding our Research Partnership Program and the 2024 grants.We also shared information about BINC’s participation on ESPGHAN 56th Annual Meeting in Milan, 16th-18th of May, and about the organization of our Morning Symposium on osteopontin.
