We promote research and develop comprehensive health solutions in the fields of infant and maternal nutrition and care.
latest research topicsAs a hub for scientific cooperation, the BINC Foundation funds research and fosters collaborations and exchanges to increase our understanding and promote innovation in the field of infant and maternal health solutions.
Through our research partnership program, we foster collaborative research in our 4 areas of expertise : mother and child health, biotics and microbiome health, brain development, immunity and allergy.
Atopic Dermatitis (AD) is the earliest and the most common manifestation of allergies. Recent studies have shown that allergies were associated with a disruption of the gut microbial ‘balance’ suggesting that the use of nutritional intervention very early in life may restore an optimal pattern of microflora aiming at improving the host’s health.
Gut microbiota development is impacted by mode of delivery, diet, lifestyle and environmental parameters such as closeness to animals. These parameters impact gut microbiota composition and have been linked to allergy protective effects (‘Microbiota hypothesis’).
On the 1st and 2nd of July 2023, BINC China held the 7th annual Biostime Institute for Nutrition and Care (BINC) symposium in Kunming, China. Researchers from renowned institutes from across China presented important scientific advances in breastmilk research, infant microbiome, immune system maturation and HMOs as the next frontier in China.
In May, the BINC team attended the annual meeting of the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN Annual Meeting). More than 4,000 global visitors got together for networking around science and infant nutrition with key opinion leaders, partners and practitioners.
