BINC Foundation at JFN 2024: Advancing Pediatric Nutrition with Innovative Bioactives

The Biostime Institute for Nutrition and Care (BINC) was proud to participate in the 2024 Journées Francophones de Nutrition (JFN) in Strasbourg, reinforcing its commitment to advancing research in pediatric nutrition. As part of this esteemed event, the BINC team hosted an engaging symposium on December 4th, focusing on the theme: “Innovative Bioactives in Pediatric Nutrition: Supporting Immune System Development.”

The symposium brought together leading experts to explore the latest scientific advancements in pediatric nutrition. Dr. Jean-Michel Lecerf and Dr. Marc Bellaïche shared their expertise on two key bioactives—Lactopontin and Human Milk Oligosaccharides (HMOs)—highlighting their crucial roles in immune system maturation during early childhood.

Expert Contributions:

Dr. Jean-Michel Lecerf: Renowned physician specializing in endocrinology and metabolic diseases, Dr. Lecerf has dedicated his career to nutrition research at the CHRU and Institut Pasteur de Lille, where he founded a distinguished nutrition department.  His presentation, “LPN (Lactopontine), une protéine inédite inspirée du lait maternel,” explored the unique properties of Lactopontin in pediatric nutrition and immune support.

Dr. Marc Bellaïche: Pediatric gastroenterologist at Hôpital Robert Debré and head of the pediatric unit at the American Hospital of Paris, Dr. Bellaïche is an esteemed researcher and educator. He has held leadership roles in several pediatric gastroenterology and nutrition organizations and has extensive experience in clinical studies. His presentation, “Quels rôles des HMOs dans l'immunité des nourrissons?”, examined the immunological benefits of HMOs in early childhood.

BINC Foundation remains dedicated to bridging scientific research with practical applications in pediatric nutrition. By fostering discussions on cutting-edge topics like Lactopontin and HMOs, BINC continues to support healthcare professionals in making informed decisions for infant well-being.

We extend our gratitude to all participants and look forward to future collaborations in advancing nutrition science. Stay connected with BINC Foundation for more updates on our ongoing research and initiatives!
